It is my pleasure to welcome you to my new blog! I hope you find this an inspiring place to learn about my life, my company and all things food, travel and entertaining. Since I'll be your guide, allow me to introduce myself.
It’s been ten years since I moved to Denver, bought a building on South Pearl Street, unpacked my knives, and opened Vert Kitchen. I always get asked what Vert means, replying “it’s just green in French” but to me it’s more than that - it’s truly tapping into the French “art de vivre” right here in Denver.
Paris has been and always will be my biggest inspiration. There I attained the basis for my cooking style as a professional chef for two years. I made many friends and I fell in love. When you’re at Vert, I want you to feel like you are part of it – the Paris experience. I serve the food I love and learn through my travels. Just this past year I trekked every continent eating and inspiring the recipes we offer in my kitchen as a way to bring the world’s flavors home to you.
It has now been five years since the launch of Overt by Vert Kitchen our Grab & Go line. We started locally in Colorado in just five locations with outstanding partners like Natural Grocers and this past month we launched in our 9th state.
In everything we serve we focus on the best ingredients and combining both modern and familiar flavors. I have had so many wonderful mentors, and collaborators over the years, and have gotten to work alongside a lot of hardworking chefs who have reinforced these values. I believe in running a fair and equitable place for employees, and we pride ourselves on our best practices in sustainability, health and food safety.
I am so excited for the future, serving you the food I love and want to eat. And now, on this blog, sharing my best food, travel and life stories with you. With this first post, I invite you to learn more about my life and cooking.
